Support
The SKKG supports participation in cultural heritage. The SKKG considers participation to be the most intensive of a multistage process that ranges from obtaining expertise and co-determination to the transfer of decision-making power. To this end, we work in partnership with museums and collections in Switzerland that are pioneering new approaches in this field.
With the three funding programs "Audacity", "Scaling" and "Structure", the SKKG supports museums and related memory institutions throughout Switzerland with funding. For the funded projects and institutions, a strategic approach, a cooperative attitude, innovation and the courage to take risks, transparency, effectiveness and supra-regional relevance are important to us.
As a charitable foundation with a large collection of cultural assets, we provide funding in order to learn for our own operational work. When evaluating funding projects, we are guided by the strategic objectives and the SKKG Kultur impact path. We are also guided by the current version of the "Swiss Foundation Code".
To the funding documentsWhy support and why focus on participation?
Participation is essential as part of a living democracy and for a strong civil society. Participation is an active process in which cultural heritage can unfold its impact. That is why we focus on participation. Through participation, we promote the exploration of identity and the joint creation and experience of shared values.
SKKG promotes pioneering and risk-taking and acts in a spirit of partnership and collaboration. We try to take all dimensions of sustainability into account. We want people to be able to learn from our funding. That is why traceability and transparency are important to us.
Kultur Komitee
The "Kultur Komitee Winterthur" is a separate funding project. People randomly selected from the resident population and invited to participate decide on a funding budget of CHF 400,000 for culture in Winterthur.
Mia Odermatt and Noemi Scheurer accompany the committee through the decision-making processes as the project management team. They are responsible for coordination, the submission procedure for artists and public relations. The project is financed by the SKKG.
