Audacity

How to apply for funding

The SKKG promotes participation in cultural heritage. With its "Audacity" support program, it addresses museums and related institutions that want to enable more participation in the material cultural heritage. Museums and related institutions based and operating in Switzerland can apply for funding under the "Audacity" program.

Two-stage application process

Stage 1 Project outline:

Your project for more participation in the museum

The SKKG wants to enable more participation in cultural heritage. That is why we promote participation in museums. For the first phase, the project outline, we are interested in how your project or project idea will help to achieve this goal and what impact your project will have. The information you provide will be used to check whether the project fits in with the SKKG's funding strategy. Ideas are also welcome as project outlines. In other words, projects that have not yet been further elaborated.

For this first phase, all you need to do is create an account on the portal and answer a few questions. You can edit and delete project outlines that have not yet been submitted at any time on the application portal under "My requests".

Stage 2 Project proposal:

Submitting your own project proposal

In the second phase, a complete project application must be submitted. Existing concepts or applications can be used. The project proposal should not exceed 15 pages, including any annexes.

The project application should cover the following points:

  • Description of the project idea and the project and impact objectives
  • Information on target groups, mediation and communication measures
  • Brief details of the people involved in the project
  • Timetable, including milestones if applicable
  • Internal experience in the field, reference to comparable projects by other stakeholders
  • Cooperation: partners involved in the project and form of participation
  • Budget: expenditure and income, cooperation with other funding institutions
  • Proof of financial requirements
  • Contribution requested from the SKKG

The project will be reviewed by the Funding team according to the assessment criteria.

How we rate

The SKKG team examines the following dimensions of a project:

Project management

  • Does the institution carrying out the project have experience?
  • Have similar projects and ideas already been implemented?
  • Are resources used in a comprehensible manner?

Effectiveness

  • How can it be recognized that the project is successful?
  • Is the presumption of effectiveness comprehensible and convincing?

Common goals

  • Is the aim of the project to promote greater participation in cultural heritage?

Leadership

  • How does the project fit in with the institution's activities?

The SKKG defines the following criteria in its strategy , which it also takes into account when selecting funding recipients:

  • Strategic approach
  • Cooperation and reliability
  • Innovation and the courage to take risks
  • Transparency
  • Effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability
  • Supra-regional relevance

The SKKG is guided by the current version of the Swiss Foundation Code.

This is how we accompany

A partnership approach is important to the SKKG. This is why the promotion team accompanies the project with oral reports as part of the interim and final reports.

Final reports and final accounts have their purpose, but they tie up resources that you would actually like to invest in the next exciting project. How do you turn a boring compulsory exercise into a productive development opportunity? At SKKG, we want to talk about it.
